Easy Ways to Install Windows 7 Complete + Pictures

This article contains a tutorial about how to install (re) windows 7 on a computer or laptop. As we all know that Windows 7 is one of the windows operating system is very popular nowadays.

Windows 7 was released to the public in October 22, 2009. Although there is a newer version of windows 8 and windows 10, windows 7 still much favored by many people.

I created this article to help friends who are not well informed about how to install windows 7 properly.

I wrote this article as soon as possible so that you can fully understand every step that I described.

Oh yes, do not forget to prepare the following things:

• Set up your Windows 7 DVD in advance, because we will learn how to install windows 7 from DVDROM.
• Setting the BIOS to boot from CD / DVD.
• Backup important data in advance
• Did you install a laptop? If so, I suggest you immediately plug the laptop charger. Do not let your laptop running out of power during the installation process because it will have a negative impact on the laptop itself.
• Prepare snacks and drinks because I made this article quite long hehehehe.

SETTING BIOS to boot from CD / DVD

Generally, computer / laptop is usually the first boot from HDD. Therefore, you should make prior arrangement to first boot from the CD / DVD.

1. Turn on or restart your computer / laptop, then press the DEL (Delete) . Usually to get into the BIOS menu, the most commonly used is the DEL, F1, F2, or Fn + F2, depending on the laptop manufacturer / motherboard. 2. BIOS menu will appear as shown below. After that, move to the Boot using ◄ ► button. 

3. You will see a screen like below. As you can see in the picture below, that the device is at the top of the HDD. So computer / laptop will boot from the first HDD.

4. In order to boot from CD / DVD, you need to put the CD-ROM Drive at the top. You do this by selecting the CD-ROM drive, and then slide the button  +/-   to stay on top as shown below.

5. Do not forget to insert the Windows 7 DVD is on DVDROM. Then press F10 to save the settings and exit the BIOS menu.  

Not all computer / laptop has the same type of BIOS. Could you use a BIOS that is not the same as I used in this tutorial.

STEPS TO INSTALLING WINDOWS 7

Well, setting the BIOS to boot from the CD / DVD is complete. Now is the time of installation windows 7 Installing Windows 7 is not difficult, please follow the steps below carefully.
1. The first step, press any key to start the installation.

2. Please select Indonesian (Indonesia) on Time and currency format . The Language to install and Keyboard or input method allow default . Then select Next .         

3. To begin the installation of windows 7. Select Install now . 

4. Check I accepted the license terms , then select Next .  

5. I assume you are currently studying install windows 7 operating system for the first time. So, please select Custom (advanced) . 

6. If you want to re-install, upgrade or downgrade the Windows operating system at the same time want the data to another partition is not lost, simply delete Disk 0 Partition 2 (C :) partition and Disk 0 Partition 1: System Reserved , a second later you automatically delete the partition it becomes Unallocated Space .    

Please create a new partition again (automatically, that partition into Disk 0 Partition 2) and use Disk 0 Partition 2 as a location for the installation of windows 7, then Next . Confused? See the picture below. 

For those who want to re-install, upgrade or downgrade to Windows 7 at the same time do not want the data in other partitions lost, please skip steps 7-10 . And for the first installation of its HDD windows 7 and still smooth and have not previously installed Windows operating system, please skip to step number 6 of this .  

7. The next step is to partition the hard drive space. Select Drive options (advanced) > New . Then specify the size of the partition / drive. Then select Apply when finished.    

8. Select OK to manufacture windows system files or so-called system reserved partition only.    

9. Please create 2 partitions in the same manner as in step number 7 . Actually, how many partitions depending on individual taste. In this tutorial, I only create 2 partitions. 

10. Please select Disk 0 Partition 2 as the location of the installation windows . Then select Next . Actually, you can choose the installation location anywhere, but I suggest you put on Disk 0 Partition 2 .   

11. The installation process of Windows 7 progress. This process takes approximately 20 minutes. During the process, the computer will reboot / restart itself several times.

12. Do not press any key on the keyboard! This will cause you to repeat the installation process from the beginning.

13. The next step is to enter a user name and computer name. Then select Next . 

14. The next step is to create a password for your Windows account. My advice, create strong passwords with a combination of numbers and symbols. As for the password hint, enter the word or phrase that helps you remember your password is. If you do not want to add a password, leave it blank. Then select Next . 

15. Please enter the product key windows 7, then select Next . If you do not have a product key , you can skip these steps without entering a product key . But, without a product activation key, you can only use Windows 7 during the trial period (30 days). Then select Next .   

16. For Windows Update, please select Ask me later . You can choose Use recommended settings windows 7 DVD if you have the original. But if not, I highly recommend select Ask me later .  

17. For Time zone / time zone. Select (UTC + 07: 00) Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta . 

18. The next step is to determine the location of the network. Please select Public Network . 

19. If you add a password to your account as in step no. 14. You have to enter a password first to log in to the desktop screen. Then press Enter . 

20. Well! Windows 7 installation process is complete. 

cONCLUSION

In addition to installing the DVDROM, you can install Windows 7 with a USB flash drive with a bootable flash make it in advance. How to install it are not much different from installing through DVDROM.
